Instructional Technology Plan

As the Instructional Technology Coach at Wilson I would work to provide an easy and seamless entry into the position.

Ideas for entry include the following:

  1. Meet and Greet with teachers at each school.
    1. Throughout the first month of school, I would schedule days at which I would be out at each school in the district. In the morning I would work to provide coffee and doughnuts/bagels for the teachers. Additionally throughout the day I would be available for the teachers to stop down during lunch or planning periods to converse as well as get acquainted with me.

  2. The implementation of a technology integration survey that assesses the needs of the teachers of the district.
    1. Sample survey that was sent out to teachers that represent the elementary schools, Jr. highs, and high schools.
      1. Click here to view the survey.
      2. Click here to view the survey results.
      3. The survey showed the need for increased time and professional development in new technologies.
      4. the survey also showed that the majority of the teachers would be willing to run a virtual course.

  3. The reimplementation of a district wide technology team with representatives from each building.

  4. Meet with the administrative team to determine professional development opportunities for teachers and create a professional development plan for the Wilson School District.

  5. Continue to schedule days that allow me to be at each building throughout the district to be accessible to all teachers in the district.

  6. Create a wiki site, Google Apps, or Moodle class that acts as a resource for all the teachers in the district.
